Children/Youth

Each child is unique, endowed by God with specific talents and faculties. The purpose of the classes is to assist children
to acquire spiritual qualities and an upright character, revealing those gems latent within them. Lessons include various
modes of learning, memorization of quotations, story telling, games, songs and art.
The Springfield IL Bahá’í Community sponsors children’s classes which are offered to provide a means for developing
attitudes and qualities that will lead to the children’s spiritual growth.

Great attention is given to the development of spiritual qualities and to those beliefs, habits and behaviors that constitute
the essential attributes of a spiritual being. Bahá'í children's classes are intended to nurture spiritually vibrant and healthy
young people who will grow up without prejudice and with a positive, powerful sense that they are important to
God and have a role to play in serving humanity.

These classes are free of charge and include:

• Practice using Virtues
• Free play
• Crafts
• Music
• Movement and Dance

There are also many neighborhood children’s classes being offered by Bahá’ís throughout Springfield and surrounding areas.
All of these classes focus on developing morals, virtues and other spiritual tools that the future citizens of this world will need to increase the process of peace-building.
